Organisation Description
The Physico-chemistry of Actinides and Fission Products Unit (PAFP-CIEMAT) actively contributes to EURAD projects, including CORI and FUTURE work packages. The unit offers infrastructures for studying radionuclide migration in a repository, ranging from complete geochemical characterization of materials and porewaters to mechanistic analyses of radionuclide sorption in organics, oxides, and minerals, as well as diffusion and transport studies in various materials and scales. Qualified scientific and technical personnel provide support and training on relevant mechanisms, experimentation, analytical techniques, and modelling tasks.
Potential Type of Collaboration
Sharing of technical expertise; participation in working groups; access to data or facilities; joint research initiatives; training programmes or knowledge transfer activities.
Areas of Collaboration
Radionuclide migration studies, geochemical characterization, sorption and diffusion experiments, modelling of transport processes, and training/internships in relevant experimental and analytical techniques.
Additional Information
This unit is accessible for training, internships, and technical visits.
