My experience at the EURAD final event was both enriching and inspiring. The primary objective of my attendance was to present a poster and actively participate in the congress, given my keen interest in the plenary sessions and the various investigations presented.
One of the highlights for me was the focus on Work Package 15, specifically Task 5 of the CONCORD project, which aligns closely with my research interests. Within this context, I presented a poster detailing the corrosion processes of metallic containers used in deep geological repositories for the disposal of high-level radioactive waste.
My work at CIEMAT has involved a thorough examination of corrosion under varying transient conditions, and the EURAD event provided an excellent platform to share these findings. The discussions and feedback from fellow researchers and industry experts were very interesting, offering new insights and potential collaborations.
The Student Session also stood out as a significant aspect of the event. Also, it was interesting that the upcoming EURAD 2 guarantee the continuity and advancement of research in radioactive waste management.
