Organisation Description

The CONTACAD platform, hosted at ASNR’s Cadarache research centre, is licensed to possess and use approximately 80 radioisotopes of both natural and artificial origin in significant quantities. Operated within classified radiologically controlled zones and equipped with a dedicated nuclear ventilation system, the platform provides a controlled environment for handling radioactive samples from contaminated environments or artificially contaminated materials. Users have access to spaces and resources for experimentation, sample preparation, physicochemical characterisation, and storage. Key equipment includes ICP-OES, ICP-MS, fluorimeters, elemental analysers, and COT meters, enabling detailed physicochemical analysis of radioactive samples.
