Organisation Description
The Petawatt Laser Facility at HZDR enables the development of advanced ultra-compact particle accelerators and light sources. The facility features dedicated target areas optimized for investigating and applying relativistic laser-plasma processes, accessible to both in-house and external researchers. The DRACO (Dresden Laser Acceleration Source) petawatt laser system is a state-of-the-art high-power ultra-short pulse laser, specifically designed for relativistic laser plasma physics studies. As part of the PENELOPE project (Petawatt ENergy-Efficient Laser for Optical Plasma Experiments), the facility combines high-peak power operation at the petawatt level with high-average power performance at a repetition rate of 1 Hz.
Potential Type of Collaboration
Sharing of technical expertise; participation in working groups; access to data or facilities; joint research initiatives; training programmes or knowledge transfer activities.
