Organisation Description
The Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) is located in the municipality of Santa María de Garoña, Burgos, Spain. It began commercial operation in 1971 and ceased activity in 2012. Complete dismantling and decommissioning are planned in two phases. During the first phase (2021–2024), spent nuclear fuel (SNF) remains in the pool. In the second phase (2024–2031), the SNF will be transferred to an interim dry storage facility.
Technical visits will be available once the dismantling project begins.
