Organisation Description
ÚJV Řež, a. s., serves as a key technical engineering body supporting the development of a long-term sustainable power supply in the Czech Republic and contributes to the European Research Area in nuclear energy. The organisation manages approximately 95% of institutional radioactive waste in the country, 65% of which originates from its own operations. ÚJV Řež is currently the only company in the Czech Republic capable of covering the complete radioactive waste management chain—from generation to safe storage or disposal—excluding the nuclear power plant fuel cycle. At the Fuel Cycle Chemistry Laboratory, research supporting radioactive waste disposal is conducted, including studies on material properties, interactions, and contaminant migration.
