Lunch & Learn | Nagra’s Safety Case for the General License application

Nagra has applied for a general license to establish a combined repository for high-level radioactive waste (HLW) and low to intermediate-level waste (L/ILW) in the geologically siting region of Nördlich Lägern in northern Switzerland.

Leupin’s contribution presents the synthesis of the post-closure safety case, delineating how Nagra substantiate the long-term safety of the proposed repository. The safety case development involves a comprehensive safety assessment, defined as the process of assembling evidence, arguments, and conducting analyses to ensure the disposal system’s safety through-out its post-closure phase.
